This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies ChatNest uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. It covers both the ChatNest platform itself and the chatbot widgets embedded on customer websites.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They help websites remember you, keep you signed in, and understand how the site is used. Similar technologies include browser storage such as localStorage.

2. Cookies we use

We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or analytics cookies on the platform. If we introduce analytics or marketing tools in future, we will update this policy and obtain consent where required.

3. Cookies on customer websites (widget operators)

If you embed a ChatNest chatbot on your website, the widget stores the session identifier described above in your visitors' browsers. Under UK law (PECR and UK GDPR), you are responsible for disclosing this in your own privacy and cookie notices. We recommend adding a line such as: "This site uses an AI chat widget that stores a session identifier in your browser to remember your conversation."

4. Managing cookies

• Platform login cookie (CRAISESS): essential — if you disable it, you cannot stay signed in. You can sign out at any time, which removes it.
• Widget session (localStorage): visitors can clear it through their browser settings (Site Data / Storage), which starts a fresh conversation. Clearing it does not delete conversation history held by the chatbot operator.
• Most browsers let you block or delete cookies via settings. Blocking essential cookies will break the platform's login and the widget's conversation continuity.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when we change how cookies or similar technologies are used. The date at the top of this page shows the current version.
